IS IT IMPORTANT FOR A LADY TO HAVE PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS?

Is it important for ladies to have adequate knowledge on public speaking and if yes, why and how does one go about it?

In Colossians chapter 4 verse 6, the Bible says we need to be pleasant and hold the attention of your audience when you speak. And it also urges us that we choose our words carefully and be ready to give answers to anyone who asks questions.

Taking the former statement which I want to put more emphasis, it is important for ladies to have adequate knowledge on public speaking and also practise it. It is a plus to you. You cannot properly convey a message if you cannot hold your audience’s attention. Public Speaking doesn’t only make you know how to speak good English but how to read your audience, their emotions, how to make them involved in what you are saying and much more.

Having said that, it is important to note that public speaking isn’t limited to English. It may be a French, Spanish, or Yoruba audience. The point is you have to get to know how to hold their attention.

Here are some steps on how to go about it:

• ·         Read up on Public Speaking
• ·         Try to always understand your audience

With these two basic things, you can and will anywhere and convey your message successfully.

Finally, you don’t want to be passing a right message in a wrong way. So, Public Speaking skills are very important.
