A lady is 21 and a graduate. She believes that God has
called her to a particular purpose but her family is kicking against it because
it doesn’t relate to her course of study. What should she do?
Knowing that Purpose comes from God is a great thing. It is God that gives every person his or her
purpose, dreams, and desires and so He needs the progress of that vision even
more than we do. And He expects us to be disciplined and committed to it.
First, one must commit that Purpose that has been laid in
one’s heart to God and pray sincerely about it and I can assure you that God
will answer.
So it might work like this… you might be able to balance
what you love versus what your parents’ desires are until you leave their
house. For instance, working in a paid job and doing your business by the side
or working in a paid job and still having the time during the weekends to
pursue that vision whatever it is.
It could also be like this…God might need you to start right
off and He will provide a means for you to survive. For instance, many people
may choose to live in a different town from their parents because of what God
has called them into and then believe that with time, the parents will come
around and understand.
Please note that this is not a prescription that urges one
to challenge his or her parents. The lady will just have to follow God with
wisdom and Love and prayers.
In case she becomes overwhelmed, she can see a counselor.
