What do you do when your family members aren’t really keen
on saving money? They spend at the slightly thing and buy so many unnecessary
things but you like to save a lot. How does one handle this type of situation?
I am going to actually be sharing facts from experience.
Truth is, whether they know what you are earning or not, it doesn’t matter. You
will leave to build a family of your own soon and because of this fact, you
need to save, invest in yourself, and give as well. At this point, you cannot
keep being emotional. If one dies, life in your family will still continue so
here’s what you should know.
First, God is their Source and not you. You must understand
that you need to say no sometimes because you need to do useful stuffs with
your money and don’t feel guilty at all.
Second, you become legally responsible 100% for your life at
the age of 18. You must take responsibility for your life including the
financial aspect of your life.
Thirdly, you must have a purpose for your money. Even if you
have just 50K in your account and you have set aside that money for savings,
when you are being asked if you have money the answer should be a NO. Why?
Simply because that money has been purposed for something else. Have a purpose
for as small an amount as N50.
Furthermore, giving is goodly and godly. You must be
sensitive to when there is a real need and you must extend your love through
giving. At that point, you must give to please God and not to please your
family’s spending desires and habits.
Finally, I will like to say to young ladies, except you have
extra to spend you should treat your money wisely. Accountability is a quality
of a WONDIVA **yeah…WONDIVA is a term for a wonderfully distinguished, virtuous
and attractive woman**. Let’s learn to balance Love and Wisdom.
That's all for now...please post comments
