DID GOD COMMAND LADIES TO USE SCARVES TO CHURCHES AND RELIGIOUS PLACES? PART I

This question is about whether or not it is mandatory or has been commanded by God for ladies to use scarves or cover their heads to church or any Christian gathering

Answers

To be honest I didn't know how I was going to start this topic because it is broad, I mean very very broad, so I would actually only be scratching the surface today as this teaching has many parts that
we can actually explore as time goes on here in the WONDIVA community.

So the basics

1 Corinthians 11:5

“And any woman who [publicly] prays or prophesies (teaches, refutes, reproves, admonishes, or comforts) when she is bareheaded dishonors her head (her husband); it is the same as [if her head were] shaved.” (THE AMPLIFIED BIBLE)*

1 Corinthians 11:10

“Therefore she should [be subject to his authority and should] have a covering on her head [as a token, a symbol, of her submission to authority, that she may show reverence as do] the angels [and not displease them].” (THE AMPLIFIED BIBLE)

1 Corinthians 11:15

“But if a woman has long hair, it is her ornament and glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering.” (THE AMPLIFIED BIBLE)

Look at verse 10 for instance, so do you really think that ordinary scarf that can be blown away by breeze is what Paul was talking about? There was some form of should i say rudeness or unnecessary contention between men and women especially in modesty and humility in church & worship, that is what Paul was addressing.

Verse 5 says this in the message translation; In the same way, a wife who speaks with God in a way that shows a lack of respect for the authority of her husband, dishonors her husband.

I am explaining from this translation (MSG) because it is able to explain without much talk

The head covering if you read the whole verse especially of message and even other bible study materials you will realize that it is talking majorly about: "Propriety in Worship"

Putting both men and Women in order as both sexes were beginning to feel like they could prove their points in whatever way

Here, vs:12 says The first woman came from man, true--but ever since then, every man comes from a woman! And since virtually everything comes from God anyway, let's quit going through these "who's first" routines.

Like I said, we cannot finish this topic today, we are only laying foundations.

As I conclude, I want you to know that the whole head (shave or no shave etc) were just comparisons to the main point he was talking about; the bible isn't compicated

Vs 15 at least gives us peace, He stated it clearly that her hair is given to her as a covering.

That sets free every form of what to cover or not.

1 Peter 3:3-5: "Don't be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God."

This is how the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They trusted God and accepted the authority of their husbands.

If the scarf wearing was the point, 1 Peter wouldn't have what it quoted. I hope you get the point?

We will continue in the next part
